Reported at the meeting with the Provincial People's
Committee, representatives of the Department of Natural Resources and
Environment said that by the end of July 2020, departments, branches and
localities have achieved 3/5 targets of the Provincial Party Committee. about
waste. Specifically, the completed targets are: the rate of collection and
treatment of common industrial wastes is 1,117 tons / day, reaching 100%; the
rate of hazardous waste collection and treatment is 452 tons / day, nearly 100%;
Medical waste collection and treatment is 13.9 tons / day, reaching 100%. 2
targets that have not been met are the current rate of collection and treatment
of domestic solid waste 1,826 / 1,833 tons / day, reaching 99.6%; Rate of
burying domestic solid waste is 29% (the target is less than 15%).
The current difficulty is that some localities lack
infrastructure for garbage collection and sorting; 2 localities that have not
yet completed the 100% collection of waste are Trang Bom district and Bien Hoa
city due to the large amount of waste; Garbage collection unit does not have
specialized vehicles to transport sorted garbage; Only 2 out of 7 garbage
disposal complexes are in operation, ensuring the rate of landfill waste below
15%; Some garbage disposal areas still have problems with incineration
operations, composting systems, operating permits.
Therefore, in the coming time, in order to improve
the efficiency of garbage classification at source, the Department of Finance
and the Department of Construction should take measures to support garbage
disposal businesses that still have legal procedures to quickly complete their
documents. to officially operate the plant according to approved capacity; The
Department of Natural Resources and Environment issues guidance on the
classification of domestic solid waste at source and organizes the
implementation in the province as directed by the Provincial Party Committee and
the plan of the Provincial People's Committee; departments, localities and the
political system have to embark on a simultaneous implementation of waste
separation at source.
The classification of waste at source contributes
to saving resources; providing benefits to the owner of the waste generated from
making use of recycled scrap and homemade compost; Sorting waste at source
contributes to minimizing pollution; Sorting waste at source contributes to
raising public awareness about protection and rational use of natural resources
and environment; Sorting waste at source contributes to reducing the total
amount of waste in the community discharging into the environment in order to
reduce the load for the environment, and save the cost of collection,
transportation and treatment. Domestic waste, before being treated, should be
classified right at the household.

and produces a stench such as: leftovers, spoiled food (dead vegetables, fish
...) Fruit, ... Persistent waste is divided into two categories: recyclable and
non-recyclable. Recyclables are types of waste that can be reused directly or
reprocessed such as paper, cardboard, metal (iron frame, broken ship engine,
aluminum ...), plastics (bottle, household plastic)…. The rest of non-recyclable
waste is discarded.
