Chan Mountain at 874 meters.

The commune is located in the tropical monsoon zone
with two rainy seasons. The rainy season lasts from April and November.

dry season starts in December and lasts until next March. Average temperatures:
26-28 degrees Celsius;
yearly average precipitation: 1,956-2,139 mm; humidity: 75 percent;
the
highest temperatures: 36 degrees

HISTORY AND CULTURE
Xuan Tho Commune was known as Bao Chanh Hamlet,
Gia Ray Commune, Long Khanh District, a strategic hamlet of Chua Can Mountain
base area (Gia Ray). In 1977 the People’s Committee of Xuan Tho Commune was
founded.

POPULATION
The total population of the commune is amounted to 18,909 people.
The
number of households is 4,234 families.
Ethnicity:
There are 11 ethnic groups living in the commune, including Ch’ro people with
274 households, Nung people with 3 households, Chinese people with 42
households, Khmer people with 13 households, Tay people with 11 households, Ede
people with 2 households, Muong people with 2 households and Vietnamese with
3,887 households.
Religion:
There are four main religions, including 4,235 households with 18,909 people.
Catholicism: 951 households with 4,519 people; Buddhism: 1,395 households with
7,323 people; Caodaism: 121 households with 605 people and Protestantism: 79
households with 399 people.
