On March 25, Dong Nai People’s Committee sent a document to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to report on the end of African swine fever in the province.


On March 15, 137/137 communes, wards and townships in the province went through 30 days without any African swine fever cases

 

According to the document of the provincial People’s Committee, on March 15 137/137 communes, wards and townships in the province passed 30 days without any African swine fever cases. Particularly, People’s Committees of districts, Long Khanh city and Bien Hoa city announced no African swine fever cases in the area, facilitating the transport, trading, slaughtering and consumption of pigs.

 

The People’s Committee of Dong Nai province said, an announcement of no cases of African swine fever has been made thanks to disease prevention methods, which is mainly applying bio-safety breeding.

 

On April 17, 2019, African swine fever penetrated in Dong Nai province and the first outbreak appeared in Trang Bom district. On December 31, 2019, African swine fever occurred in 137 communes, wards and townships with 5,371 livestock households, and about 450,000 pigs were culled, which has greatly affected production activities and economic losses.

 

Specifically, the total amount of compensation needed to support the destruction of pigs infected with African swine fever is over VND44 billion. However, up to now a support amount of more than VND30 billion has not been provided timely for the people whose pigs are culled.
