1976, the Party Committee of Don Dien district was dissolved and the Party cells
of plantations and farms were changed to be under the leadership of the Party
Committees of the district and at this time the Party organ of Cam Duong was put
under the direction of the Party Committee of Xuan Loc district. On February 28,
1977, Xuan Loc district’s Party Committee issued Decision no. 08 - QD on the
merging of the two Party organs of Cam Duong and Thua Duc communes into 1
grassroots one, shortly named Xuan Duong Party organ. The time when Xuan Duong
Party organ was established was also the time when Xuan Duong commune was
officially established and it belonged to Xuan Loc district, Dong Nai province.
- The commune’s historical sites:
- The commune’s victories were made by its people.
+ In October 1959, Ngo Dinh Diem established two
palaces in Cam Duong and allowed cutting down trees in Dat Do and Cam Duong
palaces, using bulldozers to destroy forests and get land for establishing
palaces and plantations, which are divided into 3 zones. Zone 1, zone 2 and zone
3, and at the same time they established two communes, Cam Duong and Thua Duc,
to manage the population.
+ In order to carry out the plan of gathering people
to establish strategic hamlets, our enemy bombed, attacked and chased away to
try to gather people and established hamlets, but some workers at Cam Duong
palace and plantation continued to fight against the enemy with each sheet of
corrugated toles when our enemy sent soldiers to our houses and demolished them.
The next day our workers built houses again, which drove our enemy mad and
caused them to burn houses but put up tents and huts to live in. In various
ways, despite having to lose blood, workers of departments receiving support
from armed squads helped to resist, delay plans and gather people into
“strategic hamlets”.
The movement of the resistance war against strategic
hamlets continued to develop, especially after the overthrowing of the regime of
followers in Saigon led by Ngo Dinh Diem (November 1, 1963). In Cam Duong
commune, under the leadership of the district’s Party Committee, the struggle of
workers and farmers continued to take place.
