The entire ward has 3,485
households with 16,734 people. The rate of natural population growth is at 1.18
percent (from 1.25 percent previously -- Resolution sets 1.37 percent for 2001,
1.2 percent for 2005).
Religion
Buddhism: 44 households, making
up 1.28 percent; with 2,339 followers 14.61 percent;
Catholic: 22 households, making
up 0.64 percent; with 104 followers 0.65 percent;
Protestant: nine households,
accounting for 0.26 percent, with 35 people 0.21 percent;
Caodaism: 222 households, making
up 6.47 percent, with 1,091 followers 6.81 percent;
Ethnicity
Vietnamese: 79 households,
reaching 2.30 percent; with 387 people 2.41 percent;
Muong people: four households
making up 0.11 percent; with 20 people 0.12 percent;
Mien people: two households, 0.05
percent, with nine people 0.05 percent (data in 2005);

The total area of 418.25
hectares, of which the total arable land is 29.10
hectares, including 23.1 hectares of annuals, 6 hectares of perennials, and 4.7
hectares of water surface for aquaculture. Agricultural land covers 12.8
hectares and residential land is 297.45 hectares, of which, specific use land is
94.92 hectares while urban residential land is 107.04 hectares;
General assessment: identifying
the local economic structure as trade, services, industry and small-handicraft
industries, and agriculture, the commune makes efforts to develop Buu Hoa ward
toward the city’s general direction of industrialization and modernization.
3. Tourist Attractions
Buu Hoa ward is located along
Dong Nai River with a mild climate all year round and two distinct rainy and
sunny seasons, with traditional pottery. Compared to 1,976 the population
density has a 1.1 percent increase due to a net increase of population and high
density. Nguyen Tri Phuong temple (Quarter 4) and Long Thien Pagoda (Quarter 1)
are located in the ward.
4. Transport and Electricity
Buu Hoa Ward is crossed by a
critical transport system between provinces and Ho Chi Minh City - National
Highway 1K and interprovincial routes, National Highway 16, and Highway 1... and
the waterway transport system on Dong Nai River. Internal road system has been
65 percent asphalted. In general, the transportation system facilitates people’s
travel. Buu Hoa substation provides electricity for all people – 100 percent of
households are using electricity.
5. Communications
There are Buu Hoa Telegraph
Station under Bien Hoa Telephone-Telegraph and Post Office branch under the
Provincial Post Office, opening at 7:00 AM-6:30 PM.
6. Mineral Resources
Due to its geographical
structure, the ward is poor in minerals, mainly stone and soil in Tan Ban quarry
for building materials.
7. Traditional Products and
Occupations
Buu Hoa ward’s traditional
occupation is pottery making with 15 establishments, which produce major goods
for export and serve people.
