-
Agriculture: Long Tho’s land area is increasingly narrowed down due to its
handover of construction sites to projects. The commune’s people have applied
scientific advances to the cultivation of vegetables like cucumbers and water
melons with two crops each year thanks to the stable output prices, which has
increased the yield of each type of vegetables by 20 to 30 tons per ha and
farmers earn a profit of VND15 to VND20 million per ha after having all
production costs deducted, which is also a good sign that the commune is
gradually industrialized towards science and progress.
Long Tho no
longer has the orchards that is specialized in growing fruit trees and the
commune’s domestic animal and poultry livestock tends to decrease sharply due to
the impact of diseases and poor output prices.

by farmers. The commune has quite a large area of forests with valuable woods
that need paying attention to and taking care of and it is necessary to protect
forests and increase forest area.
- Fishery:
211 ha. In recent times, fishermen are developing a 45-ha industrial shrimp
farming model.
Farmers
earn VND80 to VND100 million per ha after having all production costs deducted.
In addition, 196 ha of water surface for shrimp farming has brought back a
stable income of VND20 million per month and this job also brings high income
for the commune’s people. Therefore, it needs to be developed more widely and on
