1. GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION
Hang Gon is located in the heart of Long Khanh town
to the south and is 8 km from the town’s center. Hang Gon’s atural land area is
3,385.31 ha, accounting for 17% of Long Khanh’s total land area.
- Hang Gon borders Xuan Tan, Bau Sen, and Xuan Lap
communes in Long Khanh town, Dong Nai province to the north;
- Hang Gon borders Nhan Nghia commune in Cam My
district, Dong Nai province to the south;
- Hang Gon borders Xuan Lap commune in Long Khanh
town and Xuan Que commune in Cam My district, Dong Nai province to the west;
- Hang Gon borders Xuan Dinh commune in Xuan Loc
district, Dong Nai province to the east.

4. CLIMATE
Hang Gon commune is located in the sub-equatorial
tropical monsoon climate with the specific features of the climate in the
Southeastern region, two distinct seasons: the rainy season and the dry season.
The rainy season is from May to November.
The dry season lasts from December to the end of
April next year.

5. HISTORY AND CULTURE
According to the history book of the Party Committee
of Hang Gon commune (1930-2015), the name of Hang Gon was taken in 1911 but the
land of Hang Gon has existed for a long time. In 1911, Hang Gon rubber
plantation was formed and the name of Hang Gon has been taken after since then.
Hang Gon is the land associated with the
long-standing cultural and historical value and over 2,000 years ago bronze
casting and carving jobs were present here, which proves the presence of the
archaeological relics of Cu Thach Hang Gon tomb, a special national monument,
which is currently under the management of the Management Board of the
provincial Historical Relics and the Ong Da Temple Festival, which is celebrated
here on the 13th of the lunar September every year.
Hang Gon is the land with a large number of ethnic
minority people living together for a long time; therefore, traditional
festivals of ethnic minorities continue to be restored and preserved. The
festival of worshiping the Forest God (sayangbri) and the Rice God (sayangva) of
the Choro ethnic minority group, which are held on the full moon days of January
and February to pray for rain and wind and abundant crops every year.
Besides, there are folk festivals like those Ba Hang
Gon temple festival, which is held in the full moon of October every year.

so on.
