1. GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION

Bao Quang commune is 6 km from the center of Long Khanh town to the northeast, and 60 km from Bien Hoa city to the north. It has the natural land area of ​​3,497.5 ha.

- Bao Quang borders on Xuan Bac commune in Xuan Loc district to the north;

- Bao Quang borders on Bao Vinh commune in Long Khanh town to the south;

- Bao Quang borders on Xuan Tho commune in Xuan Loc district to the east;

- Bao Quang borders on Binh Loc commune in Long Khanh town to the west.


2. ADMINISTRATIVE UNITS

Bao Quang is divided into 5 hamlets: Bau Coi, Tho An, Ruong Tre, Lac Chieu and 18 Gia Dinh.

3. TERRAIN

Bao Quang has a relatively flat and a little sloping terrain, commonly from 0 – 3 degrees, but it has some places with a slope of 4 to 8 degrees, which are located in an area with an altitude of about 130 m.

4. WEATHER - CLIMATE

Bao Quang has a tropical monsoon climate near the equator with two distinct seasons: dry and rainy seasons. The rainy season usually starts from May to November every year.

The annual rainfall is approximately 2,150 mm. The average humidity is 85 to 90%. The average temperature is 25 to 26 Celsius degrees, the highest temperature is 34 to 35 Celsius degrees, and the lowest temperature is 19 to 20 Celsius degrees.

5. HISTORY & CULTURE

Before 1975, Bao Quang had belonged to Bao Vinh hamlet in Xuan Binh commune in Xuan Loc district and then it belonged to Xuan Vinh commune in Long Khanh district. Bao Quang commune was established under Decree no. 109/1994/ND-CP dated August 29, 1994 by the government on the basis of splitting Xuan Vinh commune in Long Khanh district into Bao Vinh and Bao Quang communes.

Bao Quang formerly belonged to the revolutionary base, where Long Khanh town’s military was stationed.

6. POPULATION

Bao Quang has a population of 10,915 people and 2,862 households.


Bao Quang has 9 ethnic minority groups living together, over 90% are the Kinh people, and the rest are such ethnic minority groups such as Cho-ro, Tay, Nung, Khmer, Muong, Hoa, Thai, Cham, and so on.

There are 4 major active religions in Bao Quang: Buddhists (491 households), Catholics (361 households), Protestants (64 households) and Caodaists (44 households).

The religious facilities in Bao Quang consist of 3 pagodas, 1 church, 1 chapel for the Catholic community and 2 meeting points for Protestants.
