Socio-economic overview

 

1. Geographic location:

Bao Binh commune is located in the east of the center of Cam My district and is 12 km from the district’s center, 70 km from Bien Hoa city and it is also home to a developed economy with many industrial zones.

At present, the commune’s natural land area is 3,738.81 ha with its administrative boundary as follows:

Bao Binh borders on Xuan Bao commune, Cam My district, Dong Nai province to the north.

Bao Binh borders on Xuan My commune, Cam My district, Dong Nai province to the south

Bao Binh borders on Nhan Nghia commune, Cam My district, Dong Nai province to the west.

Bao Binh borders on Xuan Tay commune, Cam My district, Dong Nai province to the east.

 

2. Administrative units:

Based on its above geographical features, and to be convenient for its management, Bao Binh commune is divided into 5 hamlets: Tan Bao, Tan Binh, Tan Xuan, Tan Hoa, and Lo Than.

 

3. Terrain:

Bao Binh has a mountainous terrain with an average slope of 170, and relative altitude of 5.5 m, and an absolute altitude of 12 m.

 

4. Climate:

Like other communes, Bao Binh is located in a tropical monsoon climate, with rainy and dry seasons. The rainy season starts from May to the end of October, and the dry season starts from November to April next year. The commune has rainfall of 150 mm; an average temperature of 29 Celsius degrees, humidity of 60%, the highest temperature of 33 Celsius degrees, and the lowest temperature of 25 Celsius degrees.

 

5. Cultural history:

The commune was established in 1994. Together with the people across the country, Bao Binh’s people fought courageous and made various victories and the commune was awarded the title of a heroic unit of the people’s armed force.

 

6. Population:

At present, the commune’s total population is 15,196 people and 2,673 households. There are many ethnic groups living together in the communes such as Kinh, Chinese Vietnamese, Ede, Choro, Tay, Thai, Khmer, Sang Diu, Muong, Tho, Cham, Dao, and Nung but the majority is still the Kinh people.

Religion and beliefs: there are religions like Buddhism, Catholicism and Protestantism.
