The Veteran’s Society of Trang Bom district joins hands in building a new countryside Update 22-10-2019 11:24
Through its practical and meaningful movements, the Veteran’s Society of Trang Bom district not only helps each other to do business well but also makes a lot of significant contributions to the movement of building a new countryside in localities.

In recent years, the members of the Veteran’s Society of Trang Bom district have actively joined hands in local movements such as “All people unite to build a cultural life in residential areas”, “Build a civilized lifestyle and cultural families”, “All people protect national security”, “Effective people mobilization”, and “All the district joins hands in building a new countryside and civilized urban areas”.

According to the report by the Veteran’s Society of Veterans of Trang Bom district, the Veteran’s Society at all levels has done a lot of meaningful jobs; paid visits to more than 1,352 members, who were sick, passed away, and had accidents; visited the elderly members and gave the amount of VND342,000,000 VND and offered 2,514 gifts worth VND480,000 each to the veterans and members of the Veteran’s Society on holidays and Tet holidays and other gifts worth VND79,000 each to Dien Bien troops; and donated VND640.5 million to charity funds.

 

With the movements to help each other to do business and increase production activities, Veteran’s Society members have made loans worth VND586 million to each other; donated 1,322 labor days, 629 breeds and 21,650 plant varieties worth over VND250 million and 9 gold tales; called for its members to donate to build two houses and repair another two houses with total costs of VND175 million; and coordinated with levels of Fatherland Front Committees to hand over 10 houses, repair 2 houses, and donate 150 labor days.

 

In order to achieve the goals of helping each other to do business and reduce poverty in a sustainable manner, the district’s Veteran’s Society has established a veteran’s club with 27 members to do business at district level. 17 out of 17 sub-Veteran’s Societies have formed clubs and cooperative groups for veterans to do business with the participation of 208 members and veterans. Joining the club, members have been active enough to carry out activity programs, call for the building of a “loan-making” fund for its members to conduct business and production activities effectively and form a chain of links to assist each other in promoting product production and consumption.

Also, according to the report by the district’s Veteran’s Society in the past 5 years levels of Veteran’s Society have established 4 cooperatives, 12 cooperative groups, 10 farms, and 8 family-owned farms owned by the Veteran’s Society with 158 households being good at both business and production at all levels of the Society. Particularly, 16 members have been recognized to be veterans being good at business and production, 15 members have achieved the titles of “An excellent veteran at the provincial level”, and 32 members have achieved the titles of “An excellent veteran at district level” by the Central Veteran’s Society.


In addition to helping each other do business well, through the movement of building a new countryside, the Veteran’s Society has mobilized its members to donate land and money to building roads, thereby attracting over VND32 billion and more than 3,135 labor days and building 84,746 km of rural roads. In particular, veteran’s families have donated over VND6 billion and 1,350 labor days.


Also, for the movement of building a new countryside the grassroots Veteran’s Societies in many localities manage and take care of 64 “bright, green, clean and beautiful roads” and traffic safety. In addition, the veterans of local Veteran’s Society at all levels have been active enough to coordinate with the units of the Army Officer Academy 2, Brigades 25 and 26 of Military Zone 7, and Army Corps 4 to mobilized people in the communes of Thanh Binh, Song Trau, Trung Hoa, Tay Hoa, Doi 61 and An Vien, thereby calling for the donation of more than 3,000 labor days, building more than 2,200 meters of concrete roads; paving roads with stones and clearing bushes along 10 km of hamlet roads; holding cultural and musical exchange activities; and visiting and offering gifts to the government’s policy beneficiaries.


Having coordinated to disseminate propaganda information in the past 5 years, the Veteran’s Society at all levels has jointly held to disseminate propaganda information on the Law on Prevention of Human Trafficking Crime to more than 9,786 people 363 times, and propaganda information on traffic safety to 9,350 people 348 times; attended the “All people join hands in protecting the country in hamlets and quarters” to contributing to creating a strong “People’s Public Security” force.

 

Also, the Veteran’s Society has coordinated to launch plans and working with police to build the operation models of the Veteran’s Society in the field of local security and order.
