The project is implemented with the goal of all levels of Youth Union having at least one activity in which they join hands in protecting the environment and responding to climate change; 100% of Youth Unions in residential areas registering to undertake and implement the “Bright - green - clean – beautiful” roads; and all levels of Youth Union effectively implementing the Program of “For a Green Vietnam” and planting 30 million trees.

200 projects of youth at the provincial level and 1,600 others of youth at district-level on environmental protection and response to climate change have been carried out; 1,000 start-up ideas, and start-up and career models of the young people in the field of environmental protection and climate change response; helping with the construction of 250 houses to avoid floods for poor households and families in difficult circumstances in the central region of Vietnam.

In order to achieve that goal, one of the solutions to implement the Project is to organize propaganda activities related to environmental protection and climate change response including intuitive propaganda like using a system of banners, slogans and leaflets; editing and distributing the daily activities of youth unions, sub-youth unions, and so on. Besides, there are propaganda activities on newspapers, and radio and television stations.

Regarding the propaganda activities on social networks and modern media, it is essential to build a set of modern propaganda products on environmental protection and climate change response; coordinate with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to develop and deploy the software for searching for the information on the environment, natural disaster warning, environmental protection solutions and technologies.

Every year, it is necessary to launch and carry out a media campaign through the organization of youth’s campaigns, forums, seminars, contests, and activities to respond to environmental protection and response to climate change; design, edit and print media publications on environmental protection and climate change response.

Also, it is essential to set up propaganda teams on environmental protection for young people to participate in propaganda activities to call for and persuade locals to change their behaviors, habits, and practices, which cause harm to the environment.

Besides promoting communications activities, to implement the Project it is necessary to build and expand the models of environmental protection and climate change response among the union members and youth.

Specifically, it is essential to continue to effectively implement, build and replicate the models and constructions of young people join hands in environmental protection and climate change response; help with young people’s startup ideas, and start-up and career models in the field of environmental protection; mobilize youth union members and youth to use the environmentally-friendly input materials for production; release waste water as required and build green economic models; offer guidance on the establishment and maintenance of youth’s cooperatives and cooperative groups operating in the field of environment and guidance on the establishment and maintenance of the operation of the assault youth squads engaged in beach cleaning, of the teams of youth who are voluntarily specialized in natural disaster prevention to help people deal with environmental incidents, and of the youth’s clubs volunteering in environmental protection; and so on.

Simultaneously, it is necessary to build and launch the program of “For a Green Vietnam” to develop the pilot models of crop production in response to climate change, save electricity and energy; construct houses to prevent floods and water storage and filtration tanks, and so on for the youth union members, youth and people in the central region and Mekong delta, who are frequently affected by storms and floods; implement the activities to assist people to adapt to drought and saline intrusion in the central region, central highlands and Mekong delta regions.
