​Following the current modernization and industrialization trend of the whole country, Phuoc Thai commune is gradually coming up with sustainable orientations for future development, from which it strives to achieve predetermined goals, specifically:

1. Industry

From now to 2025, Phuoc Thai commune will be striving to achieve 50 percent of industry in its economic structure.

2. Agro-forestry and Fishery

The economy is mainly agricultural; therefore, the commune strives for this sector to reach 10 percent.

3. Trade, Services and Tourism

This sector promises to bring plentiful profits to the commune as well as to the province. Therefore, recognizing the importance of the sector, the entire commune also strives for this sector to achieve 38 percent, compared to other sectors.​
