DOST’s athletes are performing their steady running in groups
This was one of the activities to mark the 39th Anniversary of the South Vietnam Liberation and National Unification (April 30th); International Labor Day (May 1st); 60th Anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7th); 124th Birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19th); and 85th Anniversary of Founding of Vietnam Labor Union (July 28).
Nearly 1,700 athletes from 40 departments, committees, sectors, armed forces, schools, and localities got involved in running contents. Athletes competed in such contents as the steady running in groups (objects 1, 2, 3); teenagers (3 km); and young men (7 km).
As a result, Athlete Nguyen Thi Truc Linh from Cam My district was successful in maintaining her 4th championship title. Also, Cam My district won the first group prize for women and men, and the first group prize among other athlete delegations. Athlete Le Van Tuan from Vocational Training College No. 8 succeeded in maintaining the championship title for men and athlete Vu Trinh Hoang Long from Thong Nhat won the prize for young men and athlete Nguyen Thi Huong from Trang Bom won the championship title.
In terms of the steady running in groups, the first prizes were awarded to the units: the Army Infantry Officer Institution No. 2, the provincial Youth Union, and Dong Nai Rubber Corporation.
