There is a high risk of failing to control dengue fever Update 09-01-2020 10:58
In the first 9 months of 2019, Dong Nai has recorded more than 15,100 cases of dengue fever, up by 4,000 cases over the same period last year including 2 deaths.



According to Dong Nai Department of Health, dengue fever in the province is still developing complicatedly and there has been a high risk of failing to keep dengue fever under control in the last 2 months. Facing the fact that the number of people suffering from dengue fever is still high and the epidemic is still at risk of outbreaks, the provincial People’s Committee has just issued a document to direct localities, departments and unions to strengthen their prevention of dengue fever across the province.

 

In the guiding document, the Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee asked the chairmen of the People’s Committees of the districts and cities to directly direct the taking of measures to prevent and combat dengue fever in localities under their management; promote the disseminate propaganda information on how to carry out the movement of cleaning up and preventing diseases and associate epidemic prevention with new countryside construction and other local movements among people; and offer financial assistance to local dengue prevention activities.

 

Also, the Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee asked the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, and unions to coordinate with the health sector and concerned departments to launch the campaign to clean up the environment, kill mosquito larvae, and improve the knowledge of preventing dengue fever among families and the community.

 

Particularly, the health sector will continue to make plans for a large-scale spraying of mosquitoes in localities at risk of dengue fever; direct preventive medicine units to closely monitor disease movements; fully prepare medicines, chemicals, supplies and equipment to meet the needs of treating epidemics and patients.

 

To prevent epidemics from spreading and happening so long and minimizing the number of cases and deaths, the leaders of the provincial Health Department asked the provincial Center for Disease Control and City and District Health Centers to urgently launch campaigns to clean up the environment, kill mosquito larvae, and full grasp the development of local epidemics and outbreaks to spray chemical to eliminate epidemics.

 

The province’s hospitals and health centers should promptly detect the cases of disease, monitor treatment, and minimize deaths caused by dengue fever.
