More than VND1.8 billion has been contributed to help the victims of Agent Orange in the first 6 months of 2014

Specifically, over VND731 million was contributed thanks to the calls made by the provincial association, reaching 24.3 percent of the year’s plan and over VND 1.1 billion was contributed thanks to the calls made by township and district associations, reaching 31.77 percent of the year’s plan. Now, the province has 3,493 allowance beneficiaries, of which 2,108 are officials who had contribution to the country during its war period and 1,385 people who are indirectly affected by Agent Orange/dioxin. In the first 6 months of 2014, the number of the dioxin-affected victims went down by 455, of which 325 were stopped giving the monthly allowances due to their dishonest declarations, insufficient medical records and incorrect results of illness evaluation and 130 were dead or have moved to other places.
